Kathy Marin Collins grew up in the Pacific Northwest and
expresses her appreciation of the area's natural beauty
through her impressionistic paintings. She uses a rapid
process technique for painting dramatic high contrast
watercolors. By charging in color and mixing flowing wet
paint right on the paper, Kathy achieves intense dark values
while preserving white spaces.
Her award-winning paintings have been juried into shows
nationwide, featured in Watercolor Artist Magazine, The
Artist’s Magazine, and both Splash 10 and 12.
Kathy is a Signature Member of the Northwest and the
Montana Watercolor Societies and Women Painters of
Washington. Originally trained as a physician, she is now an
enthusiastic watercolor instructor and bicyclist.
