As promised in my previous post, I’m following up on my entry of 3 previously rejected works into a local juried art exhibit. Result: all 3 mixed media pieces were accepted into the Kenmore Art Show, June 27 – July 1st at Bastyr..
So how to explain the rejections and subsequent acceptances? For one, an out-of-state show would have entries from across the country, whereas a local show not so much. Secondly, persistence pays off. Thirdly, the element of luck always squeezes into an art competition.
Suggestion: keep entering shows and don’t give up if you think your piece has merit. Chances are likely that someone else will agree with you at some point.
