Still with the dropper? Yes, I’m continuing my series using Dr. Ph. Martin’s concentrated watercolors. Sketching with the “eye dropper” that comes with the set of watercolors is just so much fun.
For these paintings I do a quick watercolor sketch, then use a larger flat brush to pull some of the Martin’s paint from the sketch to form a background, and then charge in other colors. Recently Watercolor Artist Magazine notified me that they will publish some of these pieces along with a narrative in their “Creativity Workshop.” So watch for the article this summer!
When in the midst of a series I wake up each morning inspired to paint–a good feeling.

I also thought Martin’s was ink and have avoided it because I’d heard it, like a lot of inks is fugitive. May give it another look. . Hope you’re feeling better. Congrats on another WC Artist feature!
So happy to hear you are still at it Kathy. It looks like you are doing well. I hope the snowmageddon didn’t complicate your life too much. Stay warm and safe!
Love this series. I’ll look for the article in Water Color Artist. Take care.
You’re great. You’re the only artist I know who paints with a huge brush like house painters do. Thank you for your blog.
